Along with the villages, you will be walking inside the rhododendron and oak forests. So, you may get a chance to catch the glimpses of wild animals. You will be passing by the terraced farmlands, serene high-land pastures which will give you an insight to the Nepalese way of living in the countryside. On this Khopra Dada Trek, you will experience the varieties of wild floras and faunas. Alternative travel way to Pokhara from Kathmandu for Khopra Dada Trek :
You can also travel to Pokhara by the roadway which will take about 8/9 hours depending upon the traffic condition. The highway is usually congested and air polluted.
But if you choose to travel by airway, it is recommended to extend a day or more in Kathmandu just in case the flight got delayed or cancelled out. So that the stay days in Kathmandu won’t make any effect in your international flights.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our office representatives along with the driver. Then you will be driven to the one of the best hotels in Thamel where you will be staying overnight before the Khopra Dada trek begins. Then at evening, we will meet for the team meet up and the trip briefing. You will be introduced with your team leader and the guides. So, if you any question regarding the trek, you can directly have the queries with the team members. After the meeting, you can stroll around the markets of Thamel and shop your essentials just in case you need it for the trek.
This is the first day of our Khopra Dada Trek and the trip begins with about 30 minutes of drive from hotel at Thamel to Tribhuvan International Airport, Domestic Departure. The flight is short, typically it takes about 25/30 minutes. The scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara offers you the majestic views of the mountain peaks like Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Mount Manaslu along with the Annapurna Range. You will be flying over the Trishuli and Seti Rivers, terraced farmlands and the dense forests. As the flight approaches Pokhara, you will see Phewa Lake sparkling down and the glimpses of the World Peace Pagoda situated on the top of hill.
Upon reaching Pokhara, you will take a short drive to Kimche. This is a scenic drive of about 3/4 hours which will take you closer to the Annapurna Region. Kimche is a starting point for treks like Khopra Dada, Khayer Lake and Annapurna Base Camp. The journey is a mix of the paved concrete road and the bumpy mountain roads. You will be passing by the small villages like Nayapul, Birethanti and Syauli Bazar. You can witness the views of the hills, rivers, terraced farmings and the Annapurna Region.
Once you reach Kimche, after having lunch you will begin your trekking journey of this Khopra Dada Trek. You will walk through the lush . green forests, traditional Gurung Villages and the breathtaking mountain vistas. Today, you will have to walk for about 5/6 hours to reach Tadapani depending upon your pace. This section is moderate with some steep uphill section. You will pass through Ghandruk village and Bhaisi Kharka before reaching Tadapani.
The section from the Tadapani to Dobato is a detour from the typical Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The trek from Tadapani to Dobato is a stunning section of this Khopra Dada Trek which takes you through the dense forests and ridges which leads you towards the best views of the Annapurna ranges. The total distance is approximately about 12km which will take about 5/6 hours of trekking. Today’s trek can be moderate to a bit challenging because of the steep ascents. You will be walking inside the dense rhododendron and oak forests. You might get a chance to witness the wildlife of the Himalayas. The section from Tadapani to Koresthanti is gradual ascent whereas, the section from Koresthanti to Isharu is steeper ascents. The final stretch to Dobato is a mix of gradual inclines and a very less steep climbs. As you approch Dobato, you will get a close- up views of the Mount Dhaulagiri Range. Also, from Dobato you can hike up to Muldai View Point for the spectacular sunrise/ sunset. This hike will take about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending upon your pace of walking. From Muldai view point, you can witness the panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchre Ranges respectively.
The section from Dobato to Chistibang of the Khopra Dada trek is a quieter trail. This will be an exhilarating journey walking along the ridges and the lush forests along with the towering mountains. The total distance is approximately 11 km which will take about 5/6 hours of hike. This section is moderately challenging with steep ascents and descents. The section from Dobato to Bayeli is maximum downhill. You will get to witness the incredible Dhaulagiri Range and the surrounding peaks. You will pass by the Bayeli before reaching Chistibang. Bayeli is a small settlement for resting and refueling.
Then from Bayeli to Chistibang is a gradual ascents and descents through dense forests. You may get a glimpses of the wildlife like langurs, Himalayan Tahr and various species of birds. Then from Bayeli you will reach Chistibang in a couple of hour.
The stretch from Chistibang to Khopra Dada is a rewarding climb that takes you to the one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the entire Annapurna region. The total discance of approximately 5/6 km will take about 3/4 hours of walk. The trail ascneds gradually through the dense forests of pine, oak and rhododendron. You can witness the Dhaulagiri on the way. This trek offers you a transition from the dense forests to the Alpine meadows. Once you reach Khopra Dada ridge, you will get the clear views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges along with the Kali Gandaki Gorge. The sunset and sunrise from Khopra Dada is a unmatched with the panoramic views of the mountain vistas. You can also hike upto the sacred Khayer Lake which is a day hike from Khopra Dada.
The trek down from Khopra Dada to Ghorepani is a scenic route that takes you through the picturesque villages, dense forests and the offers you the mountain views. This section connects you to one of the popular treks in the Annapurna Region, Poonhill. The total distance is approximately 14km which will take about 7/8 hours depending upon your pace. The steep downhill section takes you through Chistibang, Swanta Village and finally Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a busy trekkers’ hub especially during the peak trekking season.
The short hike from Ghorepani to Poonhill is a rewarding sunrise hike. This uphill climb with a steep uphill climb takes about 1/2 hour depending upon your pace. This trail is well marked and maintained making it easier for the trekkers to walk in the dark. On the trekking season ( March- May), you can see the rhododendrons fully bloomed . From the top of the Poonhill View Point, you can witness the panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges along with Machapuchre, Nilgiri and Tukuche.
Then after heading back to Ghorepani, you will have your yummy breakfast and head down to Ulleri. The hike is about 4/5 hours more from Ghorepani. The trail is a mix of downhill sections and flat sections taking you through the lush forests of oak and rhododendron. You will be crossing the villages like Banthati, Nangethati and finally Ulleri. At Ulleri our private vehicle will be waiting for you. Then you will drive back to Pokhara. Ulleri marks the last trekking stop. Ulleri is a Magar Village where you can rest and refuel before driving to Pokhara. The 4/5 hours of drive will bring you back to the vibrant Pokhara City. After taking shower and relaxing, you will stroll around the Lake Side and chill there.
This is the last day of your trip. The journey begins with a short drive from the hotel to the Airport. The 25/30 minutes of scenic flight will bring you at Kathmandu International Airport. From Airport, you will be driven to the hotel at Thamel. You can stroll around the Thamel and buy the souvenirs as well. At evening you will have a farewell dinner with our team. You can explore the cute cafes, restaurants, pubs and grab yourself a cup of coffee or a glass of a fine wine.
On this last day at Nepal, you will be dropped at Tribhuvan International Airport by our office representative and a driver. With a heavy heart and a hope of seeing you again, we bid you a goodbye.
You can leave your non- trekking essentials in the hotel that you stay in Kathmandu.
We will provide you the duffel bags for free, these bags will be used to carry your essentials during the trekking days. The duffel bags will be provided to you during our meeting in the Kathmandu.
For every two clients, one porter will be assigned so the total weight of each duffel bag should weigh only 10kg.

Yes, SIM cards services are available at airport for purchasing. You can get the different types of cards like Nepal Telecom (NTC) and Ncell. You can get the cards after collecting your luggage. But make sure to carry the passport size photos and a copy of your passport for the necessary procedures for acquiring the SIM card. We recommend you to take Ncell SIM card for extensive coverage.

The best season for the trek depends upon what do you want to experience in the trek. Usually, the best seasons are the Spring
(March to May/June) if you want to see the beautiful wild flower and greenery along with the mountains. Likewise, Autumn
(Mid- September – November) is also the best season if you want clear sky and the mountains. But if you want to trek during the off seasons to avoid the crowd, you can trek during Monsoon (July and August) and Winter (December- February). But the weather can be unfavorable during these seasons.
It is recommended to carry USD 15 to 20 per person per day to purchase the mineral water, soft drinks, or any kind of souvenirs.
You can use the credit cards in Kathmandu. There are ATM stations around the city where you can easily withdraw your cash without facing any inconvenience.
It is possible to use ATM cards only at the major city or before the trek begins. Due to the difficult land formation there is no provision of ATMs during the trails.
