The Manaslu region wasn’t explored till early 1950s by the Westerners. Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest peak of the world was first successfully submitted by the Japanese team led by Gyalzen Norbu Sherpa and Toshio Imanishi. Even though it was kept a well restricted area, the development of Manaslu Circuit Trek officially opened for the trekkers in early 1990s. But still the trekkers require to have special permits to enter this region.
