The first day of your journey begins with Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara. Your tour begins with a nice breakfast at your hotel. Then, in the early morning, we’ll take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We will travel 205 km to Pokhara city, a 7 to 8-hour journey. We’ll pass through several villages and stop for lunch along the way.
As we approach Pokhara, we will catch the sights of Mount Annapurna and Machhapuchchre.Pokhara, the city of lakes is also regarded as the City of Paradise due to its beautiful landscapes, lovely lakes, waterfalls, gorges, green hills, and lush jungles.
Pokhara is also the gateway to famous adventure treks like Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Poon Hill Trek. After reaching Pokhara from 8-day Mardi Himal Trek, you can freshen yourself, check out the city, or go for a walk around Fewa Lake. We will spend the night in a hotel in Pokhara.
On this second day of our 8-day Mardi Himal Trek, we will have our early breakfast in the morning and leave the hotel. Then, we will drive a short distance, about an hour, from Pokhara to Phedi by car.
Although the drive is not very long, it might feel longer because of the rough and bumpy roads. Our trekking will officially start in Phedi. We will climb stairs for about 1.5 hours, passing through local shops and beautiful traditional villages.
Then, we’ll reach a flat area with green views, reach Dhampus, and take a break for lunch. After having lunch, we’ll descend through a forest trail until we reach Pothana.
On the trail to Pothana, you can enjoy splendid landscapes and terrace fields. We will stay the night in Pothana. We recommend you go to bed early the next day to get sufficient rest to enjoy the nature most in this short Mardi Himal Trek.
On this third day of our 8-day Mardi Himal Trek journey, we will head to the Forest Camp. We will have a delicious breakfast in Pothana, pack all necessary items, and march towards today’s destination. The trail changes from rocky to dirt to a barely visible forest path.
We’ll walk through a dense forest of oak and maple trees soaking the beauty of the forest. We will be trekking for about 4 to 5 hours with the astonishing mountain views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
After a few hours of trekking, we’ll reach Deurali, where we’ll be able to see Fewa Lake, Pokhara Valley, and breathtaking landscapes.The trail then gets steep and challenging.
We’ll walk on the ridge, descend, and then climb to Forest Camp, which is a wide-open green area with some accommodations. We’ll accommodate you at one of the tea houses in Forest Camp, where we’ll spend our night and get early sleep for the next day’s adventure.
After an early morning savory breakfast, we head to High Camp. We’ll see a dense forest full of lichen and mosses along our trail to High Camp. We’ll witness larger areas covered in colorful rhododendrons toward our trails and enjoy views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchchre, and Hiunchuli from the trail.
Then, we’ll reach Low Camp, a flat area with a clear view of Machhapuchchre (Mount Fishtail), and have our lunch here. The trail from Low Camp to High Camp is steep and rocky. As we climb, the trees thin out, and the path becomes more barren.
After 5–6 hours of walking, we’ll finally reach the High Camp at an elevation of 3,550 meters. We’ll be staying overnight at a lodge in High Camp with an excellent view of the sunset and getting ready for tomorrow’s adventure by sleeping early at night.
Today is the day that you will ascend to Mardi Himal Base Camp and create beautiful memories for a whole lifetime that you will never forget. As usual on this trek, we’ll be on our way after having a mouthwatering breakfast early in the morning. Our trek starts with great mountain views of Annapurna and then rocky terrain, climbing through a steep hill and green pasture.
We’ll hike the trails through lovely vegetation and along a ridge with amazing scenery. We’ll gradually reach Upper Viewpoint, where we can see panoramic vistas of several peaks, including Annapurna and Machhapuchchre. When there is snow on the narrow walk leading to the Upper Viewpoint, it may become sloppy.
Mardi Himal Base Camp (4350m) is about a 30-minute walk away from here. We’ll climb past big rocks and keep going until we get to base camp. This is where you can view Machhapuchchre on one side and a beautiful Annapurna Base Camp on the other.
Enjoy the splendor of Mardi Himal Base Camp while capturing happy moments with pictures or films. After arriving back at High Camp today, we will have hiked for a total of eight to nine hours. We’ll spend the night in this same High Camp lodge once more.
After the thrilling adventure on the trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp, we now have to head back in the same way we came to Low Camp. We will begin our return journey after having a yummy breakfast. The journey to Siding Village is a treat, as we pass through charming villages and terraced rice fields.
Every single step of yours offers a glimpse into idyllic rural life. We’ll take a break for lunch and some rest on our journey.Similarly, we descend through lush woods and bountiful farmlands until we arrive at Siding Village. We’ll arrive here in around seven or eight hours.
It’s a quiet location away from the typical tourist crowds, with a feeling of community. You are welcome to stroll around the village and talk to the residents. Here, you will spend the night and recover for the following day.
Today is the final adventure day of trekking for the Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara. After a lot of days of hiking and unforgettable heartwarming moments throughout this journey, we’ll return to Pokhara, where we started our trekking expedition.
After having a hearty breakfast in Siding Village, we trek down to Saidighatta on the trails through rice fields, lush forests, and traditional Gurung villages. When we reach Saidighatta village, we drive back to Pokhara for about an hour and a half. After reaching Pokhara, you can enjoy yourself by exploring the city, boating, taking a trip to spa massage, or doing other activities that interest you.
On this eighth day, your short Mardi Himal Trek package concludes after reaching the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. You can start your early morning walk to Sarangkot to see the beautiful sunrise.
